Today I learned about Bone Grafting!

My newest adventure in the in the ADHP office is learning about how affordable dental implants really are! Although many may think that dental implants aren't very necessary, they do play a major role when it comes to oral hygiene. Once a person loses a tooth or teeth it is very important to schedule an appointment with your dentist as soon as possible. The longer you wait the more you are likely to start having bone recession! The more bone loss you have the more bone graft has to be placed into that area of the mouth.

Bone Grafting is a simple process in which a surgical procedure is used to "build" the bone. This process consists of procedures that involve grafting(adding) bone or bone like material into the jaw. The graft can be your own bone or "processed" bone (off the shelf) obtained from a cadaver. Though these procedures seem scary many dentist like to seek the comfort of their patient and will help come up with solutions to the best and their ability to make this as pain free as possible!Stay tuned for my next adventure!

If you have any questions feel free to ask and i will try my best to answer them as efficiently as possible!
