The New Patient and Her Questions

For today's newest adventure we decided to go undercover as patients and dive into the world of finding the best and most affordable price for dental implants in Southern California.

Many of these questions were very simple such as; "How much would a simple implant cost?" or "What is the success rate of dental implants in your office?"  Many dental offices refused to answer my questions unless I actually made an appointment or had been an existing patient of theirs. I know I cant be the only one who asks 100 questions before actually going through with any procedure like this... Right? I went ahead and asked them how their bone graphing procedures are done what are other options that I have other than getting dental implants and one of the offices stated that if I wanted such answers that I can always go on the internet! Lets just say I wont be letting them near my pearly whites!

I know what you might be thinking "How can you go undercover if you yourself are a dentist?". Well I decided to have a busy lunch today, and called my own office to see how my colleagues would react to answering these questions. Little did I know that my office has a staff member who dedicates her time into answering any question you can possibly think of towards the end of our conversation I was very close to scheduling an appointment to have my teeth done! I had such a sense of consolation and I was very contended that we have a staff who is very dedicated in providing such information to make a current or future patient feel at ease.

Not only did I find this little project to be full of information,  but I also got to get a glimpse of the horror one person might be feeling or going through when they have so many questions left unanswered or pushed away because an office prefers to up sell you than to be honest and humble.
